Riva boats

History

The history of Riva owes its existence to the determination and artistry of one man, Carlo Riva. It was his vision and perseverance that transformed the family business into a world-renowned brand. He was the architect of the icon we know today. As a craftsman, a salesman and a chief designer, his uncompromising belief in quality is the reason why so many boats still exist today. Riva produced nine models in series between 1946 and 1980. During this period, a total of 3,288 mahogany boats were delivered.

Riva classic models

The models can be divided into types equipped with either one or two engines. The single-engine models were fitted with either inboard or outboard engines. Models with more powerful engines were designated as ‘Super’. The twin-engine inboard models were available in both standard and Super versions. During the production period, various types of engines were used. The current value of a particular model can vary significantly depending on the type of engine and whether it still has its original engine or engines. A Riva Tritone with Cadillac engines will be considerably more valuable than one equipped with Chris-Craft engines.
